Welcome to 2012. After a bumper olive crop in 2010 many olive oil producers did not have an olive harvest in 2011 and the crop for all growers was significantly less than in 2010. This was the result of the combination of the alternate bearing characteristics of olives, a warm winter, frost and freezing in April and rain during the May bloom. We are pleased to report that although we had a significantly smaller crop in 2011 we will have 100% Estate Grown, 2011 harvest Alta Cresta Extra Virgin Olive Oil to sell in 2012. Our 2011 olive harvest was completed the second week in December 2011 and we will be bringing out the 2011 harvest oils later this year.
